Daytime Emmy Award Winner Eric Braeden, ‘The Young and The Restless,’ Reveals the Storyline That Caused Him Stay on the Show for 34 Years During Interview on AfterBuzz TV
(PRWEB) October 28, 2014 -- On Monday, October 27th, Daytime Emmy Award and People’s Choice Award winner, Eric Braeden, Victor Newman on CBS’ The Young and the Restless, stopped by Maria Menounos' online broadcast network, AfterBuzz TV, to talk with host Yael Tygiel about his career, the future of “Nictor”, and the importance of healing the reputation of Germans.
Best known for his performance on a top rated soap opera for over 34 years, it’s surprising to hear Braeden express that he did not initially intend on sticking. “I thought I was going to do it for three months.” He explained, “I couldn’t stand the medium. It was too fast. It was too – it was simply too fast.”
Braeden goes on to add, “When they introduced one storyline, that I liked very much, when they explained why Victor Newman was who he was, he had grown up in an orphanage, and that explained his character. And I knew then that I could tap into something deeply emotional. The moment I played that scene with Nikki […] when I finished that scene I said, ‘Now I’m gunna stay.’”
CBS’ ‘The Young and The Restless’ airs weekdays at 12:30pm. The full interview can be downloaded as a podcast in the iTunes store, or watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pI4l9nGZu7U
