JH Technologies Hosts North California Society for Microscopy Meeting
Fremont, CA (PRWEB) October 29, 2014 -- JH Technologies hosted the Northern California Society for Microscopy meeting in it’s training center located in Fremont California. The Microscopy Society of America (MSA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and advancement of techniques and applications of microscopy and microanalysis in all relevant scientific disciplines. The fall Northern California Local Affiliated Society was fortunate to have Professor Michael Isaacson, UC Santa Cruz Department of Electrical Engineering, discuss a brief history of the utilization of microscopic tools for exploring inner space at the atomic and nanoscale dimensions, and discuss new advances in instrumentation that allow for both the visualization and spectroscopic analysis at such scales.
Nearly 50 attendees enjoyed the presentation from Dr. Isaacson and 3 other presenters including:
• Brian Miller, Bruker AXS talking about the FlatQuad and low kV EDS,
• Steven Goodman, Microscopy Innovations, discussing efficient microscopy sample preparation and experiments in capsule using the mPrep System,
• Allison Paradise, My Green Lab, recounting the benefits of mercury free microscopy
JH Technologies Marketing, Patrick Mahoney, says, “It’s great for us to have the space and availability to host this meeting. Microscopy is the conduit to discovery. I could see that the techniques and technologies presented opened eyes and engaged the audience. I am excited that we could support the society and hopefully host another meeting in the future”.
