Freightliner Trucks Continues Support for Women In Trucking as Gold Level Partner
Plover, WI (PRWEB) October 29, 2014 -- Mary Aufdemberg, director of product marketing joined the Women In Trucking Board of Directors last year. Aufdemberg oversees the marketing strategy for Freightliner Trucks, and is specifically responsible for managing business sales tools, promotions, training, industry events, brand communications, and interactive initiatives.
Recently, Aufdemberg and her team at DTNA created a resource to share their diversity initiative, “Women’s Interactive Network” (WIN) with members of the association.
“Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) greatly values workplace diversity and has launched employee resource groups, such as the Women’s Interactive Network (WIN), to foster and support a culture of inclusiveness, engagement, and leadership development,” said Aufdemberg. “We are excited to share best practices with the members of Women In Trucking who want to initiate a similar group within their organization.”
“We truly appreciate the support DTNA has provided to WIT as a Gold Level Partner, but also in their continued support as a sponsor of our annual “Salute to Women Behind the Wheel” event each March,” said Ellen Voie, WIT President/CEO. “In addition to this support for our efforts, DTNA has been even more instrumental in ensuring WIT is a resource for companies in the trucking industry who are looking for ways to expand their diversity efforts and the WIN initiative is a helpful tool to accomplish this goal,” Voie added.
Women In Trucking Association offers an anti-harassment employment guide for carrier members and will be offering a recruiting guide in the near future. Recent projects include a Transportation Patch for the Girl Scouts of America. The association, formed in 2007, includes nearly 4,000 individual and corporate members in North America, as well as Japan, Australia, South Africa, and Sweden.
