“I have recommended your site to all my co-workers. I would not use any other site or even try another one. I have been using your site for the last 10 years and have been very happy with you and don't plan on ever changing.” C. Rydman, Layton, UT

JADE Learning is offering the 16 Hour Renewal Package for Utah to electricians that renew Sunday, November 30th, 2014. The Board-approved Utah electrical continuing education courses are available online, any time, and on any device. The 16 Hour Renewal Package includes the 8-hour core course 2014 NEC Changes Part 1 (course # 7128), and the 8-hour core course 2014 NEC Changes Part 2 (course # 7130). These two courses cover the most important 2014 NEC updates including changes to GFCI protection in Article 210.8, changes to AFCI protection in Article 210.12, and changes to switches controlling lighting loads in Article 404.2.
All individuals licensed as Utah electricians must renew their license by Sunday, November 30th, 2014. The Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing board requires 16 hours of continuing education for each renewal cycle, and 12 of the 16 hours must be Core credit type hours that cover the National Electrical Code.
All 16 of the continuing education hours can be taken online: Utah Electrical Continuing Education. There is no cost to register or get started. Courses come with a free trial and payment is only required after a course is passed. An electrician can take courses as many times as needed to pass and still pay only once. The online package is discounted to $159 through November 14th, 2014.
Here are the steps to renewing a Utah electrical license:
Step 1. Complete all of the required Utah electrical continuing education hours. With JADE Learning, licensees can work on the courses at any time from any computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Just go to JADE Learning and Register a free account or Login. The self-paced courses can be completed over the next few weeks, or all at once. The online package is discounted through November 14th, 2014. Courses completed and paid for by 2:00 PM EST on November 28th, 2014, will be reported before the November 30th deadline. JADE Learning courses have the most updated Utah electrical continuing education content and instructor support is just a click away. After completing a course online, certificates can even be immediately emailed to a licensee's inbox.
Step 2. Wait for the hours to be reported to the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing board. JADE Learning will report continuing education hours to the state every business day through the board’s online reporting system. Individual email notifications are sent to licensees once the hours have been reported to the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing. The continuing education hours should post to the board’s site within a few days. Check the status of reported hours online at Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing‘s website.
Step 3. Renew electrical licenses online. The required fee to renew an active Utah Electrician license is $63. Make sure to renew by the November 30th, 2014, deadline to keep an active license. Late renewals require a $20 reinstatement fee, and no work may be completed without an active license. Since Thanksgiving falls on the Thursday before the deadline, licensees are encouraged to renew by Wednesday, November 26th, 2014. Check the status of electrical licenses online at the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing website.
After an individual's license has been renewed, he or she will be able to continue working as a Utah electrician until the end of the next license renewal cycle on November 30th, 2016. Count on JADE Learning to offer industry-specific, relevant courses that are well-written and engaging. Electrical continuing education is our passion and top priority.
