GRAU DATA Presents The XtreemStore Product Family at Supercomputing 2014
Schwaebisch Gmuend, Germany. (PRWEB) November 04, 2014 -- GRAU DATA presents the product family of the software solution XtreemStore for the first time to the American public at the Supercomputing Conference in New Orleans on November 17-20 2014. At booth #757 GRAU DATA presents XtreemStore HSM (XS HSM), high-end storage management software for HSM, archiving and backup and XtreemStore Parallel Data Mover (XS PDM), which is designed to maximize the copy performance between Lustre and NAS storage technologies, XtreemStore HSM and Object Store based storage solutions (future offering). “XtreemStore is a high-end product suite which has to be addressed directly to IT managers for high-end applications. With our experiences at the Supercomputing Conferences in Germany and the knowledge of the American market, we know that we are placed right at the Supercomputing Conference in New Orleans”, commented Herbert Grau, CEO of the GRAU DATA AG.
XtreemStore HSM
XS HSM was developed on the basis of the GRAU ArchiveManager with an integrated parallel file system that supports file systems such as Lustre and the Fraunhofer Global FileSystem, now called BeeGFS. The integrated ArchiveManger with its client server architecture has a software design which can manage massively scalable archives with billions of files and petabytes of data. High-end customers currently use up to ten clients on dedicated machines to enable a highly parallel data stream into the archive. XtreemStore supports systems with more than 100 clients without any problems. Customers with less performance requirements can use the ArchiveManager on standard file systems with NTFS (Windows) or ext (Linux). The POSIX interface allows any application to access a data storage system which can scale both in capacity and performance.
XtreemStore Parallel Data Mover
GRAU DATA designed XSM PDM to address the need to integrate existing 3rd party storage solutions (e.g. NAS storage, Object Stores (future), tiered storage archival platforms) with high performance filesystems such as Lustre. XtreemStore PDM maximizes the copy performance between Lustre and these backend storage solutions via the use of parallel data movers to provide virtually “unlimited” performance for large number of small files in addition to extremely large files. XtreemStore PDM is targeted to 3rd party storage providers who want to connect their storage with Lustre. GRAU DATA personnel will be available at SC14 to have further discussions with storage providers regarding potential partnerships.
