Women in Business Supporting Rock the Ribbon to Ensure Better Breast Health
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) October 30, 2014 -- As many of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Many of us are impacted by breast cancer either directly, through a family member, friend or co-worker.
October 23rd marked the 5th annual Rock the Ribbon event in Philadelphia, PA. It was a night to remember hosted by Michael Barkann at Vie in Center City. The ‘Black and White’ themed evening was filled with fun and celebration, heart felt speakers, epicurean delights, and a silent auction. Proceeds from the event support Breastcancer.org.
Breastcancer.org is the leading online resource for breast health and breast cancer information and support and contains 7,000 pages of medically vetted content. A nonprofit organization, Breastcancer.org helps women and families understand, interpret, and act upon the most recent research and information so they can make the best decisions for their lives. All of the website services are provided at no charge and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.
Pango Financial’s President, Candice Caruso, came out to support the cause along with their client Jootz (http://www.jootz.com). Jootz is a handcrafted ornament and decorative accessory business. They are known for their Queen Beez ornament – a handcrafted custom ornament inspired by the beauty of women each having its own unique personality. Pango assisted Jootz in obtaining growth capital for their business by providing conventional and alternative business funding.
Judy McGrane, one of the creative forces behind Jootz, is a breast cancer survivor. A former patient of Dr. Marisa Weiss, founder of BreastCancer.org, Judy is grateful for the treatment and support she received and gives back through the sale of two of their special ornaments. “Hope” and “Faith” are two limited edition glass ornaments specially fashioned to support breast cancer research and education. A portion of the proceeds goes to support BreastCancer.org.
“Judy and Lynn are not just talented business women and artisans. They are also passionate about bringing a smile to the faces of other through their work. It is wonderful to have the opportunity to support them in growing Jootz and an organization like Breastcancer.org,” Candice Caruso said, President Pango Financial. Rock the Ribbon has presented an opportunity for women helping women in business, in health and in happiness.
