Emerging from some wild whirlwind teen years wowing crowds in her home state of Colorado while exploring her rock, pop, R&B and salsa roots, multi-talented vocalist and performer Breanna Rubio is gearing up to “Fly Alone” her international debut single that marks her explosive emergence into the dance music world.
Penned by pop singer/songwriter Nikki Flores and produced by Manny Mijares, President of Upscale Records and Anthony Meyer, the track drops worldwide on November 11th on Dauman/Upscale, two days before the release of the song’s highly anticipated video. The clip, and the track itself, both feature two-time Grammy nominated rap star Fat Joe, who wrote a special rap section for “Fly Alone.” Also appearing is Boston rapper D.One.
Special remixes of the track are being created by Greg Ceven, Glassesboys, DJ Escape (Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, Maxwell), Tony Coluccio (DJ Escape, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Kelly Rowland), Rod Carrillo (Rihanna, Donna Summer) and DR Kalendr, who has remixed for Dave Aude and Akon and is the host and producer of Groove Cruise Radio and resident headliner on The Groove Cruise aka The World’s Largest Floating Dance Music Festival.
Jason Dauman, President of Dauman Music says, “Breanna has dramatically entered the musical landscape with the centerpiece track ‘Fly Alone.’ Given the reverence with which her duet partner Fat Joe is held, it’s a delightful journey for two convincing artists.”
Breanna, who was discovered by Mijares when she performed at a Big Talent Showcase (bigtalentshowcase.net) in Orange County, CA early in 2014, is excited to have the opportunity to share her talents with audiences beyond her home region. The Denver based singer says, “I think that ‘Fly Alone’ is a great first single for me. It really showcases my voice and I love the upbeat pop-dance vibe, which is the style I always envisioned for myself when I was dreaming of this moment. It’s also very special because I had the chance to work with Fat Joe and D.One, both of whom are amazing artists and brought a lot of hip-hop energy and fun to the recording.
“The message of the song resonates with me as well,” she adds. “It’s about a girl who has feelings for a guy and she really wants him to like her back. She’s terrified that he won’t reciprocate her feelings. ‘Fly Alone’ is also a powerful metaphor for me, finally getting my music out there and hoping that I can connect in a meaningful way and touch people’s lives. That’s the reason I’ve always wanted to be a professional singer – to make a difference in people’s lives.”
Breanna, who began singing at age four and has taken vocal lessons since she was six, has been doing that very thing for many years in a variety of ways throughout Colorado, from numerous gigs at local coffee shops to major events like the World Championships of Performing Arts (2009).
“Singing has been my passion for years,” Breanna says, “and I feel blessed that so many people appreciate what I do and are helping me make my dreams come true. From meeting and working with Manny Mijares and Jason Dauman to recording and shooting the video for ‘Fly Away,’ this has been a truly amazing experience.”
