Brett R Baker, of Baker & Associates, Publishes Open Letter on New Website
Seward, NE (PRWEB) November 04, 2014 -- After a regional and national background check by a professional firm retained by Mayor Eickmeier, Brett R Baker was hired by a vote of the City Council in May 2011, http://www.cityofsewardne.com/citynewsletter12.pdf. He was given the oath of office in that May to faithfully and impartially perform the duties of the office of City Administrator according to law and to the best of his ability. The Governing Body and Brett set as a goal to start fixing the financial deficiencies and instill a culture of financial accountability.
"During the first 18 months I was in Seward, there was effective communication with the Mayor, City Council, and Staff. My annual employee evaluations scored in the mid 90’s out of a possible 100. But then, communications between the Mayor and City Council, as well as the Mayor and others started to weaken," states Brett Baker.
With all of the changes that happened over the past 18 months, Brett Baker has decided it is time to address the issues in an open letter. Please view his open letter to the citizens of Seward on the newly launched website BrettRBaker.com. There you can also view the estimated cost of the proceedings the mayor has moved forward with, our auditor's report card along with letters from the Lincoln JournalStar.
Brett Baker is the current City Administrator of Seward and has served in various city-county and state public sector positions for 30 years. He is a Credentialed Manager by the International City-County Management Association (ICMA), two-time President of the Nebraska City-County Management Association (NCMA), and current Executive Board Member of the League of Nebraska Municipalities (LONM), Treasurer of the Nebraska Community Energy Alliance (NCEA) and a cancer survivor.
