The Institute of Finance & Management and The Accounts Payable Network Offers 1099 Compliance Learning Series
Portland, ME (PRWEB) August 01, 2014 -- The Accounts Payable Network (TAPN), a membership network of The Institute of Finance & Management, has announced the debut of the 1099 Compliance Learning Series, a program that will help Accounts Payable departments get up to speed on updated 1099-MISC regulations and current guidelines.
“Every year there are new challenges when it comes to 1099 reporting and fully comprehending relevant rules and regulations,” said RD Whitney, Executive Director of IOFM. “We’re pleased to be offering practical education that will help new and seasoned professionals stay in compliance and avoid the costly penalties.”
The comprehensive program begins with the Form 1099-MISC Basic Tax Compliance Webinar on Thursday, August 21 at 2pm ET. Led by Marianne Couch, one of the country's premier advisors on federal and state tax compliance, this one-hour intensive covers the basics of 1099 reporting in 2014, including identifying reportable payments, applying 28% backup withholding and performing a sufficiency review of Form W-9.
More complex reporting requirements will be covered in the Advanced Form 1099-MISC Reporting Compliance for 2014 Webinar on Tuesday, September 16 at 2pm ET. Marianne Couch will return to address the reporting and withholding scenarios that put organizations at the greatest risk, from multi-party transactions to assignment of income to crossover with payroll.
The bundle also includes the Master Guide to Form 1099 Compliance, the just-released guidebook updated for this year, which includes compliance updates related to FATCA. With nearly every possible reporting scenario conveniently indexed, this guidebook is a must-have resource for AP professionals.
