Manhattanville College Introduces Inaugural Year of Castle Conversations Speaker Series

(PRWEB) October 30, 2014 -- Manhattanville College is proud to announce the 2015 launch of Castle Conversations, an exclusive subscription-based speaker series, presented by MasterCard®. The riveting series is made up of four evenings of diverse perspectives, thought-provoking insights and fascinating analysis. Prolific author and media luminary Arianna Huffington will kick off the series on March 25, 2015 with her unique take on the evolving media landscape.
Additional speakers include legendary American journalist Dan Rather (June 24, 2015), world-renowned astrophysicist and author Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson (September 9, 2015), and acclaimed historian, political commentator, and Pulitzer prize-winning American biographer Doris Kearns Goodwin (December 2, 2015).

About the Speakers
Arianna Huffington: Huffington is the chair, president, and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post Media Group. In May 2005, she launched The Huffington Post, a news and blog site that quickly became one of the most widely-read, linked to, and frequently-cited media brands on the internet. Huffington is also a nationally syndicated columnist and author of 14 books.
Dan Rather: For more than 40 years, Rather – a former CBS News anchor and 60 Minutes correspondent – has been the embodiment of the intrepid broadcast journalist. From the Kennedy assassination to the Indian Ocean tsunami, he has covered every major story of our time and each presidential campaign since 1952.
Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson: Tyson is the fifth head of the world-renowned Hayden Planetarium in New York City and the first occupant of its Frederick P. Rose Directorship. Most recently, Tyson served as executive editor, host and narrator of 2014’s documentary series Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey. The series, which appeared in 45 languages in 181 countries around the world, was nominated for 13 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Documentary.
Doris Kearns Goodwin: Goodwin is the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of six critically acclaimed and New York Times best-selling books, including The Bully Pulpit: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and the Golden Age of Journalism; No Ordinary Time: Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt: The Home Front in World War II; and The Fitzgeralds and the Kennedys. A former assistant to President Lyndon Johnson, Goodwin is today known for her frequent appearances and commentary on television.
