San Antonio Sports Anchor and Adoption Priorities INC Announce Premiere of Adoption Documentary, Journey of Love
San Antonio, Texas (PRWEB) October 30, 2014 -- William B ‘Vinnie’ Vinzetta and Adoption Priorities INC is proud to announce the premiere of Journey of Love, a documentary that sheds light on the positive impact adoption has on adoptive parents, birth parents, and most importantly, the child.
The premiere will take place Monday, November 3rd, 2014 at University United Methodist Church at 6:30p.m.
'Journey of Love' demystifies myths and stigmas surrounding adoption and profiles three Texas families whose experiences include open adoption, international adoption and adoption from foster care.
Retired Texas Tech University baseball coach Larry Hays also shares his experience with adopting three out of his five children. Lubbock TV news anchor, Bryan Mudd was adopted at birth and also tells his story of reuniting with his birth mother.
Other commentary in the documentary includes San Antonio Ob/Gyn Dr. Scott Farhart, who has assisted many of his patients in the adoption process, as well as Pastor Sue White.
Vinzetta, a KENS 5 sportscaster and co-producer of the documentary, is intimately familiar with adoption. After 20 years of searching, he found his birth family in 2011. He is the youngest of six children and the only one who was given up for adoption. The experience led him to become a strong adoption advocate.
Vinzetta later met Mitch and Amanda Way, co-founders of Adoption Priorities.
“Through our relationship with Vinnie we came to learn about his passion for the adoption cause,” said Amanda Way. “We wanted to spread the message of adoption in a unique way, so we presented the idea of a documentary. And from that initial discussion, ‘Journey of Love’ was born.”
Vinzetta hopes ‘Journey of Love’ helps people understand how the lives of both parents and children can be transformed with the gift of adoption.
“It’s a sad fact that every time you see a flyer, email or event that includes the word ‘adoption’, it usually refers to pets,” explained Vinzetta. “Imagine if we took adopting children to that same awareness level. It would be a game changer for those kids who need a forever home.”
