Shady Grove Fertility Announces Keynote Speaker for the 2014 Egg Freezing Conference
Rockville, MD (PRWEB) October 31, 2014 -- The inaugural Egg Freezing Conference hosted by Shady Grove Fertility in Washington, D.C. will be an educational event for women in their late 20s to early 40s who are interested in extending their fertility potential. This conference will feature a series of knowledgeable egg freezing authorities, including Sarah Richards, a New York Times contributor and author, who has been confirmed as the conference keynote speaker.
Richards, a New York City-based journalist, has written extensively about her personal egg freezing journey in several national publications, as well as in her book, Motherhood, Rescheduled. She will provide attendees with a unique perspective, discussing how the perception of egg freezing has changed culturally since she began her own journey, the lessons that she has learned from other women, and how the decision to freeze can impact an individual’s life. She will also address the recent announcement by Facebook and Apple regarding their coverage of egg freezing benefits, considering the positive and negative opinions that have surfaced in the wake of this disclosure.
“Egg freezing changes women’s lives by preserving their ability to have the biological child they’ve always dreamed of. But I’m always surprised at what else it gives women in the years before they are ready to become mothers. They feel in control of their lives and confident about their futures,” says Richards.
Sarah Richards predominantly writes about health and medicine, as well as their connection to social issues and business trends. She has been published in more than two dozen print and digital media outlets, including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Time, Newsweek, Elle, Marie Claire, the Financial Times, and Slate.
Richards will join Shady Grove Fertility physicians Eric Widra, M.D., Joseph Doyle, M.D., and Shruti Malik, M.D., who will be providing attendees with an in-depth look at female reproductive health, the science of egg freezing, and the success rates that the Egg Freezing Program has had at Shady Grove Fertility.
The 2014 Shady Grove Fertility Egg Freezing Conference will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at District Architecture Center in Washington, D.C. The conference will feature a series of discussion panels on egg freezing; networking time with vendors, physicians, and other attendees; and a question and answer session with panelists. Registration is encouraged for this free event, as space is limited.
