Although recent, unexpected world events have not affected the travel business greatly, Travel Insured International wants to remind travelers that investing in a travel insurance policy may cover costs if there are unexpected disruptions that impact the travel industry and vacation plans. It is important to understand that purchasing a Plus policy that includes the benefit of Cancel for Any Reason is the best way to make sure costs are covered if a traveler is worried about a hurricane, Ebola, terrorist attack, or another unexpected event . This benefit will allow you to cancel up to two or more days prior to your scheduled departure for a reimbursement up to 75% of your non-refundable prepaid vacation costs. The Worldwide Trip Protector Plus has to be purchased within 21 days to include this coverage.

  • Interruption for Any Reason Coverage

The Interruption For Any Reason benefit provides up to 75% cash reimbursement if a traveler must interrupt the trip 72 hours or more after the actual departure date. This may cover unused, prepaid, non-refundable trip costs. Plus, the additional transportation cost paid to join the trip if the traveler must depart after the scheduled departure date or travel via alternate travel arrangements with the most direct route. Also, to rejoin the trip or transport to the originally scheduled return destination if it interrupts the trip after departure.

  • Cancelled Flights

With recent world events causing travel disruptions, it’s important to remember that a planned flight may be cancelled. Coverage may be provided for trip cancellation if there is a complete cessation of services of your common carrier for 24 or more hours. Coverage may also be provided under Trip Delay or Missed Connection if there is a delay of your common carrier.

  • Coverage No Matter Your Destination

Many people feel that if an event is not in the destination they are traveling through or to, then they do not need to bother with investing in travel protection.
