NIC Partners Drives Down Project Cost Administration with new Fieldpoint Service Forecasting Software
(PRWEB) November 04, 2014 -- NIC Partners Inc. – Straight forward IT solutions.
One call is all it takes to see that there’s something uniquely positive about NIC Partners. They are Southern California’s technology collaborators with a contractor background who keep costs under control and projects on track where other IT providers can’t. They are big enough to handle any challenge you have and small enough to care. NIC Partners provides Data Center, Structured Cabling, Phone system, and other technology services.
NIC partners had been seeing significant growth in customer engagements so they asked Fieldpoint to help them improve project forecasting to make sure they keep on track. Fieldpoint’s project software already provided features to forecast revenue, cost, and hours. NIC Partners wanted the system to go a step further to start acting on changes in gross margin, earned revenue, cost to completion, and labor hour calculations on a monthly and project to-date basis. With this now implemented project managers can better re-forecast future months to balance things out. Also, new alarm notification tools were installed to notify NIC partners personnel when future monthly forecasts did not equal unearned revenue or if costs and margins changes are outside set tolerances.
Andy Cuberly, director of operations at NIC partners said “Fieldpoint’s customization features allowed us to increase our forecasting abilities with existing projects and increase efficiencies to cut down costs. This customization has reduced the amount of work that it takes us to forecast revenue and margin and increases accuracy.”
NIC partners also uses Fieldpoint’s “out of the box” service management software integration to Microsoft Dynamics GP so customer service invoices flow to GP financials immediately.
