We estimate the guitar will realise around £3,000 to £6,000.
Chorley, Lancashire (PRWEB UK) 31 October 2014
An ESP electric guitar serial number 113040026 that has been signed by Sir Paul McCartney in black marker pen with the added message ‘Cheers For Charity’ is to be sold by UK based TracksAuction.com. The guitar was a prop in a promotional video that Sir Paul McCartney commissioned to promote Appreciate, a track off his 2013 album, New. The guitar is played by a robot, Newman, who patrols the Museum Of Man in the video. Newman joins Sir Paul towards the end of the video to play music together. Sir Paul McCartney has written the message “Cheers for Charity”, signed his name in black felt tipped pen and dated the autographed guitar 2014. The signature, dedication and date are extremely bold and clear. Sir Paul autographs very few guitars these days, usually only for charitable purposes, and he signs even fewer on the actual body of the guitar as opposed to the pickguard. All proceeds from the sale of this guitar will be donated to the Cambodian Living Arts charity.
A spokesperson for TracksAuction.com said, “We estimate the guitar will realise around £3,000 to £6,000”.
The sale will take place at Le Méridien Hotel, London on Sunday, 23rd November 2014. A viewing day will also take place at the hotel on Saturday, 22nd November.
