New Horizons Releases Medicare Supplement Sales Tip Sheets for Agents

With the Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15-Dec. 7) in full swing for Prescription Drug Plans (PDP), agents who write Medicare Supplement policies see their sales increase tremendously this time of year. “With so many carriers offering Medicare Supplement policies in 2014, it can be difficult for agents to find one that covers their clients who have specific health conditions”, said John Hockaday, CFO & Principal with New Horizons. “I field calls from agents asking about this on a daily basis.”
Each Tip Sheet in the packet contains insurance carrier contact information, the carrier’s A.M. Best rating, how the carrier treats certain underwriting conditions, including cancer, diabetes, heart, joint replacements, osteoporosis, and height/weight ranges.
Tip Sheets also show whether or not the carrier offers a household discount, how the carrier pays commissions on applicants over age 80 and Guaranteed Issue business, a list of declinable health conditions, and notes and tips for working with each company.
Currently there are eight carriers in the packet, including Aetna, Central States Indemnity/CSI Life Insurance Company, Cigna, Companion Life, Equitable, Manhattan Life, Medico/Medico Corp, and Oxford Life. New carriers will be added continuously.
