Lajollacooks4u Returns From Touring the Global Food Scene
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) November 05, 2014 -- Cooking her way around the world, Chef Jodi has returned from her two-week tour through the global food scene. Making stops in The Netherlands and Italy, Chef Jodi gained a number of delicious recipes and adopted new techniques from her multiple cooking classes to share with guests of Lajollacooks4u.
Chef Jodi's first cooking class was hosted by Mik, a Swedish Chef residing in an art community on the outskirts of Amsterdam. Chef Mik hosted an 8-hour cooking session for Chef Jodi, where the two steadily prepared a seven-course meal. The recipes Chef Jodi gained from Chef Mik were phenomenal, and have been added to Lajollacooks4u’s recipe repetoire.
The second cooking class Chef Jodi attended was with a Singaporean woman, Chef Rosie Gohres, whose company, Flavours of Singapore, runs on a similar business model to Lajollacooks4u. Chef Rosie further elaborated to Chef Jodi how sauces boost flavors in Asian cooking, and introduced new renowned dipping sauces, such as a homemade chili-garlic sauce, a ginger dipping sauce and a light soy sauce. With Chef Gohres, Chef Jodi was able to further explore Asian cooking and, more specifically, Singaporean cuisine.
In the second city of her European excursion, Chef Jodi found the ultimate food experience with LoveUmbria, hosted by Christiana Bradley. Chef Jodi participated in truffle hunting on a 200-year old family farm, where she discovered the most incredible truffles, and new ways to utilize this ingredient.
Bradley also introduced Chef Jodi to Chef and winemaker Francesco Mariani, who shared his passion for preparing gourmet food and creating organic, imported wines under his label, Raína. Their three-course cooking class was centered on the theme “Chicken Four-ways”, which took two whole chickens, and created four mouth-watering dishes.
Regarding her trip, Chef Jodi enthused, “Amsterdam is one of the coolest and most charming cities in the world. Their cuisine is so unique and reflects their progressive, fascinating environment. Umbria provided the ultimate cooking and dining experience, and I gained so many new techniques and recipes to transform Lajollacooks4u".
Each of these new skills, techniques and recipes obtained by Chef Jodi expands the diverse body of knowledge Lajollacooks4u is able to share with guests. Recipes and Chef Jodi's personal kitchen tips are added monthly to the blog (http://www.lajollacooks4u.wordpress.com). As always, guests are welcome to request these new, European recipes as they customize their group menus for their hands-on, cooking classes with Lajollacooks4u.
