L-com Expands USB Line to Include Panel Mount USB Cables with Ground Wires
North Andover, MA (PRWEB) November 13, 2014 -- L-com Global Connectivity, a designer and manufacturer of wired and wireless connectivity products, announced today that they are now manufacturing panel mount USB cables with ground wires. These USB 2.0 panel mount cables are perfect for use inside a box or enclosure.
By adding a ground wire, the user has the option to electrically ground the USB female connector to their panel or enclosure.
The new USB cables are similar to L-com’s popular ECF504 series, but with a flange-style panel mountable Type A female side and an alternatively smaller body. This molded panel mountable construction is rugged and robust, using 20 AWG power conductors and a 28 AWG twisted pair all under a double shield for maximum EMI resistance.
“We engineered these USB cables with ground wires to offer our customers adjustability and alternative design for their USB application,” said Steve Smith, Product Manager. “These cables are a great fit in applications with limited space.”
The new USB cables are available in lengths of 0.3, 0.5, 0.75, 1, 2, and 3 meters. The cable color is light gray and each assembly includes two 4-40 x 3/8" Phillips pan head mounting screws. The #6 spade lug easily attaches to a screw or similar hardware.
Common applications that use panel mountable USB cables include: PC Peripheral Interconnects, Test and Measurement, Data Acquisition, Portable Data Storage and printer interface.
