“Awake in Seattle”: NalandaWest celebrates 10 years with a weekend of meditation and contemplative arts
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) November 05, 2014 -- NalandaWest is celebrating its 10th anniversary on November 15 & 16, 2014 with an Open House and weekend of panel discussions, meditation instruction and exploration of the contemplative arts.
What does it feel like to live life more fully awake and alive?
All “Awake in Seattle” events are free and open to the public. All of the weekend’s events will give visitors a taste of bringing a contemplative perspective into our lives.
Saturday’s program:
• A panel discussion, co-moderated by Angela Russell, KIRO-TV anchor, with three leading teachers from distinct Buddhist traditions: Venerable Pannavati, John Tarrant Roshi, and Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche.
• Learn how meditation helps us to be more open, spacious, and relaxed.
Brief instruction from each of the three teachers’ traditions, for a direct experience of meditation.
• Free lunch: Locally sourced foods of the Pacific Northwest
• Take an experiential tour of the Five Fields of Knowledge: Creativity & the Arts, Health & Well Being, Communication, The Mind, and Direct Insight.

• A panel discussion with Nalandabodhi senior teachers Tyler Dewar, Lee Worley, Mark Power and Karl Brunnhölzl.

Ven. Dr. Pannavati, a former Christian pastor, is co-founder of Embracing-Simplicity Hermitage in Hendersonville, NC. Ven.
