Jan Blomstrann, Chairwoman and CEO of Renewable NRG Systems, Receives International Women’s Forum Award
HINESBURG, Vt. (PRWEB) November 03, 2014 -- The International Women’s Forum (IWF) has named Jan Blomstrann and eight other outstanding women leaders from around the world as “Women Who Make a Difference.” During the IWF 2014 World Leadership Conference on October 31, the organization paid tribute to the contributions that awardees have made toward improving society, inspiring others, and building better leadership in the world.
Jan Blomstrann’s career in socially responsible business began when she joined Hinesburg-based Renewable NRG Systems (RNRG) in 1987. During her tenure at RNRG, she has helped build a global organization that now serves more than 150 countries around the world. In addition, her focus on workplace excellence and sustainability have been recognized by the Wall Street Journal, Best Places to Work in Vermont, the Vermont Governor’s Office, and the U.S. Green Building Council (for RNRG’s two LEED Gold buildings).
In addition to the IWF honor, Blomstrann has received several awards for her leadership, including Wind Woman of the Year by the Women of Wind Energy (WoWE); Champion of Change by The White House; and the Terry Ehrich Award for Excellence in Socially Responsible Business by Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility. She currently serves on the board of directors for the American Wind Wildlife Institute, WoWE, the Institute for Sustainable Communities, and the Fairbanks Museum.
