Dr. Fisher's Medical Weight Loss & Aesthetic Centers Begins Fundraising Efforts for The Eileen Stein Jacoby Fund To Aid In Their Fight Against Breast Cancer
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) November 03, 2014 -- About one in twelve women will develop breast cancer sometime in their life. Researchers agree, besides having yearly mammograms when you turn 40, lifestyle changes including losing weight, getting active and following a healthy diet can help lower a woman's breast cancer risk.
This month Dr. Fisher's Medical Weight Loss & Aesthetic Centers, a private medical practice with four offices in Greater Philadelphia, invites area residents to make the commitment to a healthier lifestyle by taking The Body Focus Cleanse21™ Challenge for Breast Cancer Awareness and join them in raising money for breast cancer research.
The Body Focus Cleanse21™ Challenge asks women to turn awareness into action by following a 21 day, physician supervised detox diet program which utilizes real foods you buy at your local store, an Immunity Blend Nutritional Supplement and a Meridian Stretch Routine to help remove toxins, reduce body fat and restore balance to your system. The entire program can be followed online or on-the-go using the EZDietPlanner & Fitness Tracker™ mobile app.
“By getting involved in this fund raising event happening at our offices through November 8th, those who take the challenge will not only lose between 5 and 15 pounds but they will also be supporting a good cause,” says Dr. Fisher, a board certified family physician.
A percentage of the proceeds generated by Cleanse21™ Program will go directly to the Eileen Stein Jacoby Fund, a non-profit organization that has raised over $1 million for cancer research and awareness efforts in the 10 years since it opened. The organization was started to help memorialize Eileen Stein Jacoby, a personal friend of Dr. Jon Fisher, Medical Director at Dr. Fisher's Medical Weight Loss & Aesthetic Centers. Dr. Fisher has supported the organization since its inception, but this is the first year the Body Focus Cleanse21™ Challenge for Breast Cancer Awareness to help generate funds for the group's fundraising, research, and awareness efforts.
For Dr. Fisher, supporting the Eileen Stein Jacoby Fund has a personal element to it, but it's really part of the practice's greater charitable outlook.
"Besides this foundation, we donate to a number of other causes, but because this is breast cancer awareness month and a lot of our practitioners who work in our offices have in some way been impacted by this cancer -- whether it be family members, friends, or themselves -- we're putting greater emphasis on this organization," Dr. Fisher says.
It's an effort that Dr. Fisher and the entire Body by Fisher Now team take a lot of pride in. "We feel we can really reach out to not only new and existing patients, but also to our staff -- the majority of whom are women and are very supportive of this cause."
