Bernie Clark, Executive Vice President and Head of Schwab Advisor Services, named Chair of the Foundation for Financial Planning’s Board of Trustees

The Foundation for Financial Planning today announced that Bernie Clark, executive vice president and head of Schwab Advisor Services, will assume the role as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, effective January 1, 2015. Clark was elected to the position during the Board of Trustees’ October 23rd meeting.

The Foundation for Financial Planning is privileged to have Bernie as a leader on a Board composed of the best leadership in the industry that is dedicated to advancing the delivery of pro bono financial planning advice to the underserved. “Bernie and I have worked together as Trustees on several committees and his intellectual capacity has played a pivotal role in strengthening the strategic vision of the Foundation. We have benefited from his leadership as a Trustee and are ecstatic about his forthcoming role as Chair of the Foundation for Financial Planning,” said Elissa Buie, CFP®, Foundation Chair.

Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. and Charles Schwab Foundation have supported the Foundation’s mission with over $1 million in philanthropic gifts since 2004 and have provided C-Suite leadership to the Board of Trustees since 2009. Bernie has served as a Foundation Trustee since 2009 and on its Executive and Corporate Engagement Committees.

The Foundation for Financial Planning is the connector to the underserved, which includes the military, victims of domestic abuse, single parents, first time homeowners and many more— who benefit greatly from pro bono financial advice.
