Washington, DC (PRWEB) November 07, 2014
Once again, the Cinderella Foundation is ‘making dreams a reality’ with their latest installment of the Fashion with a Purpose charity event, being held on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the historic North Hall at Eastern Market on Capitol Hill. The signature event boasts Mistress of Ceremony, Jennifer Donelan, news anchor at ABC7 alongside local favorite Musician, Marcus Johnson.
The event will feature a live auction, an invigorating hair cutting performance by Josh Wagner, a live musical performance by Tulani and a fashion show – headlined by Korto Momolu of Project Runway fame and the wonderful Deidre Jefferies. Fresh from her successful showing at New York Fashion Week, Kortos’ genius will grace the runway, yet again, with her signature designs emphasizing the event’s color of strength– orange. Local fashion designer, Deidre Jefferies, will showcase her well sought collection as well.
With the proceeds, the Cinderella Foundation looks to fund its’ future mission to Sierra Leone, West Africa, to continue its efforts to better the lives of disenfranchised women through professional cosmetology training and/or funding another salon to help them financially provide for their families. Proceeds will also assist local young girls of Cinderella Foundation to develop self confident, well mannered, well-informed young women and prepare them to achieve success in all future endeavors.
‘Over the last 11 years, I've been a witness to how small acts of kindness have transformed the lives of young girls in the DC community and women in Sierra Leone through the efforts of the Cinderella Foundation. This event is an opportunity to share this inspiration with a broader community who also share my passion for high fashion, fantastic hair, make-up and, of course, helping others,’ stated Diane Cole Stevens, Founder of the Cinderella Foundation.
