Grammy Award Winning Jazz Composer and Recording Artist Bill Cunliffe & The Bill Cunliffe Trio to Entertain in Support of The M.U.S.I.C. Foundation
Woodland Hills, California (PRWEB) November 05, 2014 -- On November 15, 2014 The Music Unlocks Success In Children (M.U.S.I.C.) Foundation is presenting an afternoon of great music by Grammy Award Winning Jazz Composer and Recording Artist Bill Cunliffe & The Bill Cunliffe Trio, along with great food and beverages, and an auction that is sure to provide some wonderful bargains in time for the Holiday Season.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to support The M.U.S.I.C. Foundation’s music education program, designed to teach children to recognize musical notes, understand and duplicate rhythms, play patterns on a keyboard and create music. This music education program also raises student’s scholastic performance, improves social skills and behavior and has tremendous impact on students’ academic achievement. With scientific proof that music unlocks success in children, this program has become a viable source in educating our children.
Regardless of socioeconomic background, music-making students obtain higher marks on reading proficiency exams and is a superior way to teach elementary students the concept of fractions. Links have been found between music instruction and academic achievement as measured by standardized tests. Young children with developed rhythm skills perform better academically in early school years.
The M.U.S.I.C. Foundation partners with a growing number of public elementary schools in the San Fernando Valley, providing students with the opportunity to make academic advancement through studying music and have some fun too.
