TrustCommerce, a leading provider of secure payment solutions, has partnered with Allscripts to enable providers to securely accept online payments through the Allscripts FollowMyHealth™ patient engagement platform.
Allscripts FollowMyHealth enables patients to actively participate in their care, and empowers consumers to monitor and optimize health status. Allscripts FollowMyHealth is EHR-agnostic and integrates seamlessly with all systems across the enterprise, providing patients with a single point of access regardless of the individual provider’s software. Plus, patient-entered data flows directly back to the electronic health record, automatically populating the medical record so that critical information is readily available to the care team. It provides seamless workflow integration among patients, physicians and other caregivers, including secure messaging, bill paying and appointment scheduling.
Allscripts FollowMyHealth’s integration with TrustCommerce Solutions supports healthcare organizations in their commitment to protecting payment information.
Through Allscripts FollowMyHealth, patients can initiate bill payment online. Upon check out or discharge, patients will automatically be redirected to the secure TC Trustee® Host “Hosted Payment Page,” which resides on a different domain, where they enter their card data to complete the transaction. Their credit card data is entered directly onto TrustCommerce’s servers reducing risk and liability to the healthcare organization.
This secure solution eliminates the need for Allscripts FollowMyHealth clients to capture, transmit, or store credit card information, greatly reducing the risk of data exposure and offering a path to Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) scope reduction.
The hosted payment page is simple to set up and can be customized to reflect the organization’s brand, providing a seamless customer experience.
“Patients are consumers, and look for the same convenience and security when dealing with their healthcare team as they do in other areas of their lives,” said Peter McClennen, President Population Health Management business unit at Allscripts. “We are pleased to provide this value through our partnership with TrustCommerce.”
“As patients become responsible for a greater percentage of their medical bill, effective and flexible solutions for managing and paying healthcare contributions are vital,” said Rob Caulfield, Chief Executive Officer of TrustCommerce. “We are proud to partner with Allscripts to enable providers to collect online payments securely through the FollowMyHealth platform while presenting a path to reduce PCI DSS scope.”
TrustCommerce has a dedicated team supporting this relationship, as well as comprehensive resources available.
In addition to the Allscripts FollowMyHealth integration, healthcare organizations can leverage the full TrustCommerce suite of solutions at no additional cost, such as:
TC Vault® Virtual Terminal—Back and front office personnel can accept patient payments at any workstation (phone, mail or faxed).
