Introducing CoolMet for Stainless Steel Jacketing with Superior Reflectance; Brand new innovative metal jacketing product
Preston United Kingdom (PRWEB UK) 6 November 2014 -- CoolMet is a high-emissivity exterior paint that will reduce costs to a company in many ways. A jacketing system painted with CoolMet will offer a proven higher level of reflectance of incident radiation while simultaneously providing an extremely high emissivity of 0.87-0.9 to reflect absorbed radiation, allowing pipelines to remain cool during LNG production. Pipe density is improved and the thickness of the insulation material can be reduced.
Corrosion, including corrosion under insulation (CUI) can pose a significant problem and so CoolMet has been designed to resist its negative effects. Compared to a traditional paint like PVDF, CoolMet has far superior durability with properties comparable to that of laminate but at a fraction of the cost to the business. FLNG (Floating Liquid Natural Gas) facilities will benefit particularly from the enhanced corrosion resistance offered by CoolMet.
We have tested jacketing treated with CoolMet under many conditions and found it to be consistently superior to standard 304-grade stainless steel. In salt-spray testing, for example, ordinary 304-grade stainless steel showed signs of pitting after just 250 hours while CoolMet 304-grade stainless steel remained stable after even 750 hours of gruelling testing. The results of electrochemical corrosion tests were similarly in CoolMet’s favour.
Improving the safety and security of operators while prolonging the efficiency of insulation and its service life, CoolMet will, in partnership with SoundMet, revolutionise the metal jacketing industry, facilitating the vital work of companies including those involved with the production of LNG.
With over 16 years of experience working with insulation, BS Stainless view SoundMet and CoolMet as an innovative and game-changing step in our continuing evolution, designed to revolutionise metal jacketing systems the world over. Our powerful and productive collaboration with experts at Sheffield Hallam University has led to the creation of these two unique systems and we look forward to sharing more finalised details at Gastech SIngapore 2015, where CoolMet and SoundMet are expected to be prominent points of interest.
