To us, being a part of a community means doing your part in that community. We’re honored to be able to contribute to the well-being of our Alexandria friends and neighbors.

As the year comes to a close, individuals, organizations and businesses alike ponder the idea of making a difference in their local communities this holiday season.

Mercedes-Benz of Alexandria has turned these thoughts into actions over the last 10+ years, providing hope and assistance in the form of sizable donations to a number of local Alexandria charities and organizations including The Zims Foundation, founded by Washington National’s third baseman Ryan Zimmerman, as well as the Animal Welfare League and the Boys and Girls Club of America, to name a few.

Continuing the tradition this year, Mercedes-Benz of Alexandria has teamed with local Alexandria nonprofit, National Military Family Association, to present a donation focused towards issues important to military families: comprehensive child care, accessible health care, spouse employment options, secure retirement and support for widows and widowers. Since 1969, National Military Family Association has continued advocacy on behalf of military families, anticipating, listening and reacting to needs by fighting for benefit programs.

“This is an incredible tradition that we truly couldn’t be happier to be a part of,” said Mercedes-Benz of Alexandria General Manager, Pete Collins. “To us, being a part of a community means doing your part in that community. We’re honored to be able to contribute to the well-being of our Alexandria friends and neighbors.”

National Military Family Association isn’t the only nonprofit organization in which Mercedes-Benz of Alexandria contributed this year. In fact, each charity that has been honored by Mercedes-Benz of Alexandria over the past decade has been honored with additional donations every year since their inaugural donations were received. For example, the Animal Welfare League has received over 11 annual donations from the dealership, one per year since they received their initial donation 11 years ago. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was honored the next year, and has received ten donations, one per year, since their first 2005 donation from the dealership.

As far as good neighbors go, Mercedes-Benz of Alexandria has proven itself as one of the best. This year’s contribution of $12,500 to area organizations brings the dealership’s total to over $82,000 given towards children, families and furry friends in need in the Alexandria area. Sometimes, it isn’t just the thought that counts. This year, turn those thoughts into actions, with Mercedes-Benz of Alexandria.
