More than 1,900 hardscape contractors and distributors attended the 8th annual Hardscape North America (HNA) and more than 8,800 combined landscape and hardscape contractors attended the co-located GIE+EXPO (Green Industry & Equipment Expo) with HNA on October 22-24, 2014 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky.

The strong numbers at this year’s show further illustrate that our industry is on the rise, which is excellent news for our hardscape contractors and distributors.

HNA attendance grew 22 percent over the 2013 show and attracted 43 new exhibiting companies. The show resulted in a 7 percent increase in exhibit booth sales making it the largest HNA ever!

Hardscape and landscape contractors attended live HNA demonstrations, educational sessions and workshops to learn how to add hardscape construction or improve their skills and profitability.

“It was a great year for HNA, and the feedback that we are receiving from exhibitors and attendees has been extremely positive,” said Charles McGrath, CAE, Executive Director of the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI), which produces the show. “The strong numbers at this year’s show further illustrate that our industry is on the rise, which is excellent news for our hardscape contractors and distributors.”

The HNA Installer Championship, in its second year, was again a huge success. Integrity Landscapes, of Bismarck, North Dakota, took home the Best of the Best HNA Hardscape Champion Award after competing with ten other talented teams.

The 7th Annual HNA Hardscape Project Awards announced fifteen winners and fifteen honorable mentions at an awards breakfast ceremony on Friday, October 25th at the Hyatt Regency, The HNA Hardscape Project Awards recognize outstanding hardscape projects by contractors building residential walkways, patios, driveways, and commercial plazas, parking lots, and streets.
