Ascert, an innovator in automated-testing software technology with its VersaTest product line and Ascertified, its cloud-based testing services delivery platform, announces support for testing of the Apple Pay mobile payment technology. Using Ascert’s flexible VersaTest Automation Server technology, the company has enhanced many of its standard test simulations to include transactions from the Apple Pay system.
“We’re quite pleased to see Apple’s entrance into the contactless payment space,” says Simon Miles, Ascert’s Chief Architect. Their large share of the mobile device market can help accelerate the adoption of mobile banking technologies. The whole area of contactless transaction processing and tokenization is nothing new to us. As a pioneer in the testing of these technologies, it was really just a matter of generating new algorithms to work within our existing testing simulations. We’ve already worked with some of our customers to assist them in their testing and preparation to receive Apple Pay transactions.”
Using Apple’s new technology, which stores the consumers encrypted payment information on the iPhone’s secure element, the consumer can easily conduct commerce using near field chip technology. Ascert’s VersaTest technology simulates the token and transaction data that would be contained in “live” Apple Pay transactions thereby enabling easy, automated testing for the interface. VersaTest is able to automatically identify any issues relating to faulty messages and prescriptively suggest an error fix. The process is in many ways similar to other contactless transaction processing or tokenization schemes that Ascert has helped the financial industry test for over a decade.
