Texas Nurse Helps Next-Generation Entrepreneur
HOUSTON, Texas (PRWEB) November 06, 2014 -- Penny Warner, the Texas nurse who founded The Lice Place which grew into the largest lice removal franchise in the United States in less than a decade, is hoping to help the next generation of entrepreneurs get into business. And she’s literally giving away the franchise to do it.
Warner will give away her company’s franchise in The Woodlands, Texas, transferring all furniture, fixtures and equipment and waiving the franchise fee. Warner will select the winner through an application and interview process based on several factors including financial criteria.
“When I started The Lice Place, there were a lot of naysayers,” Warner said. “People told me that nobody would pay for professional lice treatment. I want to eliminate all those barriers for some passionate entrepreneur who is burning to help customers, create jobs and be part of this community. It’s our way of giving back.”
Warner, who had a long career as a registered nurse, started The Lice Place as a one-woman shop in 2006. Today it has multiple offices in Dallas, Houston, Austin, Katy and The Woodlands, as well as one in Birmingham, Alabama.
Lice infestation is a common problem in schools throughout the United States and, as many parents know, removal can be difficult. The Lice Place uses the Warner Method, which combines combing with manual removal and shuns harsh chemicals or pesticides. Customers are treated in private rooms and all treatments are completed on site utilizing only eco-friendly and natural products. All treatments are then guaranteed for 30 days.
“The reason that we have been successful is that we offer professional treatment and we solve a problem completely for our customers,” Warner said. “We’re looking for an entrepreneur in The Woodlands who wants to continue that tradition.”
