New London, CT Periodontist, Dr. Gregory Toback Delivers Keynote Speech at Eastern Connecticut Dental Hygiene Association Scholarship Lecture
New London, CT (PRWEB) November 04, 2014 -- New London periodontist Dr. Gregory Toback recently served as the keynote speaker at the Eastern Connecticut Dental Hygiene Association (ECDHA), Alice P. Fabrykiewicz RDH Scholarship fund lecture. Dr. Toback spoke about dental hot topics in 2014 and the Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique™, a new minimally invasive treatment for repairing gum recession.
The lecture was held for the Alice P. Fabrykiewicz RDH Scholarship Fund, which awards a scholarship to a worthy dental hygiene student in Eastern Connecticut. The decision is based on need and scholastic achievement. The ECDHA scholarship is given in honor of Alice Fabrykiewicz, who was a very active member of the organization. The subsidy helps to cover the recipient’s educational costs and includes a fully paid membership to the American Dental Hygiene Association (ADHA).
During the event, Dr. Toback discussed the Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique™, a new minimally invasive treatment for repairing gum recession. He belongs to an exclusive assembly of dentists who have completed training requisites for the Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique™, also known as Chao Pinhole Gum Rejuvenation™. As a certified provider, Dr. Toback is at the forefront of this innovative new approach to gum recession treatment, invented by Dr. John Chao, a Los Angeles based dentist. A former University of Connecticut clinical professor and a frequent lecturer at dental meetings, societies, and study clubs, Dr. Toback enjoys sharing his passion for dentistry with others and was excited to speak with local dental hygienists about this hot topic.
“I always look forward to lecturing to the Eastern Connecticut Hygiene Society as this group is always enthusiastic about learning. They are a forward-thinking group who embraces technology and paradigm shifts."
Chao Pinhole Gum Rejuvenation™ is an especially exciting development, given the procedure’s ability to repair gum recession without scalpels or sutures. Besides experiencing a significant reduction in pain, bleeding, and swelling, the new technique also offers the advantage of convenience. Because traditional gum grafting surgery requires removing tissue from the palate and suturing it to the receded areas, doctors can only treat a couple of teeth per session, to allow patients time to heal. For patients with a great deal of recession, it may take several months to complete this process. With the Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique™, Dr. Toback can treat several teeth at the same time. Moreover, most patients see marked cosmetic improvements immediately following the procedure.
