Intelligent Implant Systems will introduce the Revolution Spinal System at NASS 2014. This posterior spinal fixation system utilizes pre-sterilized implants and one tray of single-use instruments.

Intelligent Implant Systems, LLC is pleased to announce the debut of the Revolution Spinal System™ at this year’s NASS in San Francisco, California.

Revolution™ is a completely sterile posterior spinal fixation system, with individually packaged implants and an all-sterile single use instrument kit. IIS has partnered with ECA medical ( for the kit development. In order to incorporate a single use instrument kit, IIS designed a completely new implant system, eliminating expensive, complicated instruments. Revolution uses simple bone screws in conjunction with a unique connector design which replaces the rod and incorporates adjustability for angulation and length. There is no need to contour and cut rods. Revolution™ allows for bone screws to be placed first, maximizing visualization and ease of screw placement. There are no separate locking nuts or set screws, making the system easy to place in open and mini-open surgical procedures. Screws range in size from 4.5mm to 7.5mm in diameter and 5.5mm and larger are cannulated.

The system is extremely low profile, and can be utilized for one and two-level constructs, with system expansions coming soon. US and International patents are pending and a 510(k) has been filed for the system, with clearance anticipated in early 2015. The company will be exhibiting the system at this year's NASS in San Francisco, CA, November 12-14, booth #719.
