Xcel Fitness Continues to Invest in Growth with New Management
Holladay, UT (PRWEB) November 06, 2014 -- Holladay’s Xcel Fitness, one of the most advanced training centers in the United States, today announced that investor Amy White has acquired the gym from founder Josh Smith as he focuses on a new role with an Angel capital fund investing in health and fitness companies.
White has been helping Xcel Fitness launch new programs focused on member success over the past couple of years. As she steps further into leading the gym’s operations, White plans to continue expanding on Smith’s founding strategies and growing the Xcel Fitness community. Smith will continue to serve on the Xcel Fitness Board of Directors, and he will also provide management consulting to ensure a smooth transition.
“Josh created the foundation for Xcel’s culture of success, both for its members and staff, and we are dedicated to continuing to grow Xcel as one of the most advanced training centers in the United States,” said White. “We are very proud that the Xcel community features so many active members, and are focused on providing a fitness experience that keeps people coming back to discover more. As fitness continues to evolve, we’re investing in innovation at Xcel to support our community in achieving their goals and living positive, healthy lives.”
White began investing in Xcel over the past 18 months, helping the gym complete extensive renovations and adding new programs including C2X CrossFit, Studio X, which offers reformer Pilates, Barre, Kinesis, and AntiGravity Fitness classes, a new Scholé Yoga studio and teacher training program, as well as numerous new fitness classes, nutrition counseling, and instructor training programs. Xcel Fitness also added a new fresh food café, a fitness store, and redesigned the facility to make it one of the most advanced training facilities in the Western United States.
“Xcel was founded with the vision to create a fitness center that goes beyond what people typically expect from a gym,” said Smith. “Amy has helped us achieve that vision by expanding our programs and facilities, and I’m excited that she will now lead the team forward in the next phase of Xcel’s growth. We’ve created a great community and welcome new members to come and see what makes Xcel so different.”
