Precision Traffic and Safety Systems Wins Traffic Controller Contract in the City of Knoxville, Tennessee

The City of Knoxville is excited to have a local partner like Precision Traffic and Safety Systems that will assist with our continued advancement toward a more efficient traffic system here in the City

Precision Traffic and Safety Systems, LLC., a leading distributor of best-in-class products and solutions for intersection management, communications and safety for the intelligent transportation industry, announced today the signing of an exclusive three-year contract to provide traffic controllers to the City of Knoxville, Tennessee.

Precision Traffic will provide the Trafficware 980 ATC traffic controller to the City of Knoxville to begin updating intersections with the latest traffic controller technology. These advanced controllers will also provide a very scalable solution for future implementation of an Advanced Traffic Management System, or ATMS, that provides the City with complete control of the system from a central location or remotely by technicians in the field.

Future plans also allow for transit priority, flashing yellow arrows and adaptive traffic management, all features will provide a more efficient and safer traffic system around the City. The traffic controller contract includes long-term service and support which will allow the City of Knoxville Traffic Engineering department to focus on continued infrastructure improvement, advancement in effective travel times, safety and more efficient City maintenance.
