Plantation, FL (PRWEB) November 06, 2014 -- For fifteen years, Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. has partnered with e-Builder to manage its multi-million dollar, multi-faceted capital and facility management program. During this time, Northeastern managed close to 1,000 projects valued at over $500 Million and supported by over 75,000 documents – all in e-Builder Enterprise™. Northeastern is one of the many on a growing list of universities including California Institute of Technology, Dartmouth, Southern Methodist University, the Texas State University System, University of Southern California and the University of Chicago, that use e-Builder Enterprise to optimize their capital projects.
The University’s capital projects range from 150-200 every year and vary in cost from $20,000 to $200 million for customers that include the University Board of Directors to the nine individual colleges and schools. e-Builder provides a complete, centralized project management information and controls system that manages all aspects of the capital construction program from cost and schedules to document management and automated reporting/dashboards. With it, the university is able to manage project costs and schedules, provide status updates to customers and access all of the documents and information that need to be delivered in ensure the projects are on time and on budget.
The collaborative capability of e-Builder Enterprise provides access to designers, contractor and suppliers and ensures that all stakeholders are using the most current information while facilitating faster communication. In addition, the business process automation and workflow tools ensure that University processes are followed, therefore minimizing risks across the projects. The Facilities Division plans to continue using e-Builder for all new projects. The team is also working to more deeply integrate e-Builder Enterprise with the division’s financial system, space planning system and as-built documentation system.
