Indie Rock Band (i am) isis To Release Debut EP, 'Mosaic', November 28
Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) November 06, 2014 -- Indie rock/soul group (i am) isis has announced the digital release of their debut EP, 'Mosaic', November 28 via Afrockin Entertainment. Formed and fronted by spoken soul rocker isis, its members include bassist Mike Koltosky, drummer Manny Mavrakis, guitarist Diamond Dave, and keyboardist Isaac Childs. The Brooklyn-based collective describes their sound as an eclectic fusion of rock, spoken soul and bluesy funk for the new millennium.
'Mosaic' marks (i am) isis’ first all-band release following isis’ solo project, 'amazingly random', which featured 2012 National Poetry Awards’ spoken word single of the year “I Saw You.”
“We’re really excited to release this project,” said isis. “The title 'Mosaic' speaks to how we’ve come together and created this multi-faceted unit, with all of our influences, to paint very distinct musical pictures. And, hopefully, everyone who listens will see a piece of their own selves reflected within our musical journey.”
Of Liberian parents, the Newark-born, Minneapolis-raised poet/singer has been described as “an edgy and fresh brand of soulful truth”, who is both haunting and mesmerizing. The band’s live shows showcase an affinity for rock-infused guitars and thrashing delivery and have been characterized as an energetic explosion of power and grace.
(i am) isis’ 'Mosaic' EP consists of six songs, including what they call a dirty remake of isis’ “Soul Rebel” and their current single “Take It Back”, which has been dubbed a “no-nonsense, head-banging, unabashed girl-power anthem.”
