City of Baltimore to Host Financial Planning Day
Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) November 08, 2014 -- The Financial Planning Association of Maryland, in partnership with the City of Baltimore, are pleased to announce the 3rd annual Baltimore Financial Planning Day on Saturday, November 8, 2014. At this event, Baltimore City residents will be able to meet one-on-one with dozens of highly qualified Certified Financial Planner™ professionals to discuss their personal financial questions and concerns.
Financial Planning Day will be held at The Open Church located 5010 Briarcliff Rd. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and attendees will be able to meet with financial planners to answer questions ranging from getting out of debt, retirement planning, investment strategies, income taxes, social security planning and housing related issues.
“Baltimore City residents will have access to financial experts. Getting personalized financial advice and having access to relevant financial information are critical for ensuring financial well-being,” said Lazetta Rainey Braxton, chair of the Financial Planning Association of Maryland Community Outreach Committee. “This event will hopefully help residents stay on track with their finances. Good financial management supports a good quality of life.”
The four-hour event is a great opportunity for a private consultation with an expert on a wide variety of personal financial issues. In addition to one-on-one consultations, there will be a series of informative classroom workshops presented by financial planners on a wide range of topics.
“The key to this event is we are able to bring highly-qualified financial planners to our clients to help increase their financial awareness and investment opportunities at no cost to attendees. It meets our goal of helping clients become more self-sufficient and promoting financial literacy,” said Lori Cunningham, director of Community Action Partnership. “During Baltimore Financial Planning Day, we are taking an active role in the event by assisting clients with accessing and reviewing their credit reports, providing EarnBenefits screening as well as providing educational workshops from Your Money, Your Goals—a curriculum offered through Community Action Partnership.”
Baltimore Financial Planning Day is organized by the City of Baltimore in partnership with the Financial Planning Association of Maryland as part of a national Financial Planning Days initiative created by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Financial Planning Association, Foundation for Financial Planning and the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
