There is a clear link between the health of your mouth and the health of other systems, including your heart,” said Dr. Saj Jivraj.
WOODLAND HILLS, CA (PRWEB) November 19, 2014
About one in three Americans avoided seeing the dentist in the last year, and the prosthodontists at the Anacapa Dental Art Institute want to urge the public to protect not only their oral health by seeing the dentist, but their overall health as well.
“There is a clear link between the health of your mouth and the health of other systems, including your heart,” said Dr. Saj Jivraj, founder of the Anacapa Dental Art Institute and one of the top teeth-replacement experts in the world.
So how does someone find a dentist?
Dr. Jivraj and his partner at the Anacapa Dental Art Institute, Dr. Mamaly Reshad, want people to know they have choices when choosing a new dental home. The closest dentist isn’t necessarily the right dentist for everyone, they say.
To help the public find the right dentist, Dr. Jivraj and Dr. Reshad offer these six tips:
1. Someone should ask their family and friends. Find out which dentists they like and, just as importantly, why they like them. Their needs may not be the same as the person asking.
2. Search online. The searcher should use the keywords that are important to them, such as “dental experts.” Location may not be the most important factor in who they trust with their teeth.
3. Review patient testimonials. Look for people with similar situations and see what they say.
4. Look at video testimonials. Are they authentic or does the person seem to be reading a script?
5. If a free or low-cost consultation is available, take it. Someone seeking a dentist should make sure that the dentist is a good fit for their needs AND that they get along well.
6. Ask lots of questions. Any dentist should be willing to talk about his training, experience and philosophy. If a dentist seems reluctant to answer these questions or impatient to spend time with a prospective patient, they should be wary.
