Third Party Provider InfoSourcing Settles Suit Brought By Everest Software and Agrees to Stop Everest Work Moving Forward

In October 2014, Everest Software, Inc. settled a legal dispute with InfoSourcing, Inc. and its principal, Harsha Sarjapur, when InfoSourcing and Sarjapur agreed to cease and desist offering Support Services for Everest software. InfoSourcing also agreed to make a monetary payment to Everest and notify their Everest customers that InfoSourcing and Sarjapur would no longer be providing Everest Support Services.

“Too often, services providers illegally profit from software companies who have not granted them permission to work with their customers. Unfortunately, the result is often support work that is not at a level that Everest would demand from an authorized partner,” explains Everest CEO Danielle Royston. “This settlement is a victory for Everest and other software firms who hold their customer relationships in high regard.”

For over 20 years Everest Software has devoted significant resources to building trust with long-time customers. Investments in personnel, product development and service delivery have resulted in an all-time high in the Customer Success rate. Customer Success is a measure by which every Everest customer is asked twice per year if they are successful, and it is a simple yes or no. This year, much like last year, has seen an upward trajectory.

“Everest does not want companies like InfoSourcing providing unauthorized services that have not been vetted and quality-tested, and are not supported by Everest,” says Royston. “My teams have worked hard to rebuild this company, which is based on a foundation of great customers and a great product. We are going to protect what we have collectively built.”

Everest was represented in its dispute with InfoSourcing by Reid Wittliff of the Austin, Texas law firm Wittliff | Cutter, PLLC.
