Teacher Created Materials, an educational publisher in Huntington Beach, CA, is reaching out to help local teachers who are affected by the recent asbestos findings at their schools. Each teacher is receiving a $250 Gift Certificate.
“We want to show our support and make their day a little brighter,” says Corinne Burton, President of Teacher Created Materials. “As teachers and former teachers, we understand how difficult this kind of change can be for everyone involved.”
The Orange Country Register reported that the required removal of the asbestos has already cost affected schools up to 8 days of instruction, which has yet to be recouped. In the meantime, these elementary teachers and their students are forced to temporarily move to other schools to continue the learning process while their schools are under necessary repair.
This is not the first time Teacher Created Materials has reached out in this manner. The company has supported other school systems across the country following disruptive events.
Each of the affected teachers will be provided with a $250 Gift Certificate to use for instructional materials from any of Teacher Created Materials educational catalogs.
“It’s important to us that we help our neighbors in need and we are more than happy to lend a hand,” said Corinne. Reaching out is part of an overall plan at Teacher Created Materials and is aligned with the company’s vision “to create a world in which children love to learn,” she explains.
