"We will catalyze solutions to help improve the lives and the health outcomes of our citizens,” said Dr. Monteic A. Sizer, NE Delta HSA Executive Director.
Monroe, LA (PRWEB) November 08, 2014
Northeast Delta Human Services Authority (NE Delta HSA) announced today its efforts to further catalyze services in northeast Louisiana through the Louisiana Partnerships for Success project. NE Delta HSA is partnering with The Children’s Coalition for Northeast Louisiana and Louisiana Tech University’s North Central Alliance Partners for Prevention.
“Our unified goal is not only to reduce underage drinking and prescription pill use among the age 12-25 population, but to also indirectly reduce depression and suicide rates in Union Parish,” said Dr. Monteic A. Sizer, NE Delta HSA Executive Director. “By implementing sustainable intervention methods, our goal is to prevent the onset and reduce progression of this high-risk behavior. Catalyzing these efforts will strengthen and sustain the prevention infrastructure at both the community and state levels.”
Louisiana Partnerships for Success, funded nationally by the Substance Abuse Mental health Services Administration (SAMSHA) and the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) identified 10 high-need parishes to address prevention priorities in Louisiana. NE Delta HSA will manage and administer the program in northeast Louisiana.
“Louisiana Department of Health & Hospitals and the Office of Behavioral Health recognize the challenges within the region we serve. We look forward to using the available funds to find solutions in Union Parish,” said Dr. Sizer. “The need is great, and our partners on this project know and understand how to help us solve problems within Union Parish. Along with relationship-building, the program will provide ongoing data, trends and best practices to measure success. Together, we will catalyze solutions to help improve the lives and the health outcomes of our citizens.”
