Generations Federal Credit Union Accepting Applications for 2015 Future Leader Scholarship
San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) November 10, 2014 -- Generations Federal Credit Union is currently accepting applications for their 2015 Future Leader Scholarship program. Future Leader Scholarship applicants can be graduating high school seniors, current undergraduate students, graduate students, doctoral, post-doctoral and/or continuing education, trade school and vocational school students. The scholarships may be used for any educational or education-related expenses the student may incur, including books, fees and room and board.
The GFCU scholarship program is designed to recognize students whose activities, be they academic, religious or civic, will better the community and citizenship of San Antonio and its surrounding areas. GFCU will award ten Future Leader Scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each.
“It’s not always easy to be a student with all the different challenges of work, school and family. We understand the different environment students face, so we have tailored our program to meet their needs,” said David Rodriguez, Financial Education Manager. “Rather than just limit our scholarships to tuition only, the Future Leader program can help students in all aspects of their education. From books, to tuition, to room and board, we really wanted to them to be able to overcome the challenges that obtaining an education can throw in their way.”
Applicants must be a GFCU member, have a current GPA of 3.0 or higher, answer an essay question, submit two letters of recommendation and send in their transcript. Applications are due no later than 5 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015. Future Leader Scholarship applications can be obtained by visiting https://www.mygenfcu.org/scholarships/.
“The Future Leader Scholarship is just an extension of our ongoing efforts that are designed to get students on a path of financial stability and security. In everything that we do, Generations strives to be advocates for our members. Our online resources for students are second to none, and we offer products and services that are specifically tailored to their unique needs,” concluded Rodriguez.
