Health Dialog Enters Into Agreement with Partners HealthCare
Boston, Mass. (PRWEB) November 10, 2014 -- Health Dialog, a leading provider of people and technology that help patients make better healthcare decisions, announced today that it has signed a three-year agreement with Partners HealthCare. The agreement gives all Partners HealthCare patients access to Health Dialog’s award-winning library of Shared Decision Making® aids. Individuals that participate in Health Dialog’s Shared Decision Making programs tend to choose less invasive care and report being happier with both their care and their health plan.
Shared decision making programs provide patients with information that reflects the best medical evidence available and showcases real patient experiences. Information is easy to understand and accessible via web, DVDs and booklets. Partners HealthCare providers will be able to engage their patients in medical decisions using Health Dialog’s library of 38 decision aids on conditions such as diabetes, back surgery and obesity. The result is an informed decision that is tailored to each patient’s personal goals and lifestyle.
“Informed patients make better health care decisions, and better decisions support healthier living,” said Karen Sepucha, Ph.D., Director of the Health Decision Sciences Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, a part of Partners HealthCare, and an assistant professor in medicine at Harvard Medical School. “We entered into our relationship with Health Dialog after witnessing the success of patients who used decision aids. Our patients appreciate getting the materials and our providers feel they are important tools to support the delivery of patient-centered care.”
Health Dialog’s decision aids have collectively earned the company more than 100 industry awards for content, ease-of-use and design. They scored higher than any other commercial vendor’s on the internationally approved set of criteria to determine patient decision aid quality set forth by the International Patient Decision Aid Standards (IPDAS) Collaboration. Health Dialog’s decision aids also attract the highest patient participation rate—95 percent—greater than six percent higher than the next highest competitor.
“Our relationship with Partners HealthCare demonstrates our unwavering commitment to helping customers provide the highest quality care to patients,” said Peter Goldbach, M.D., Chief Medical Officer at Health Dialog. “Decision aids engage patients in their healthcare choices, leading to better outcomes that impact both their health and the viability of our healthcare system at large. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
