Marichelli Hughes, A Seasoned Communications Strategist, Joins SevenTwenty Strategies
Washington, DC (PRWEB) November 10, 2014 -- SevenTwenty Strategies announced today that Marichelli Hughes has joined the firm as Vice President of Media Relations and Strategic Communications, where she will help to further strengthen and grow its media relations and strategic messaging capabilities for its Fortune 500 and trade association clients. Hughes’ deep breadth of experience in various sectors of the healthcare industry and extensive knowledge of the media landscape on a national level spans more than 15 years.
“As we continue to rapidly expand our media relations service to clients, it was vitally important for us to have on board a seasoned media relations specialist who has an in-depth insight and knowledge of the media environment in both Washington, D.C., and nationally. Marichelli will be a great addition to our team as we can leverage her expertise in this area as well as tap into her deep understanding of the healthcare industry,” said Pam Fielding, President and Founder of SevenTwenty Strategies.
“I was drawn to SevenTwenty because of its innovative approach in servicing clients, its scope of services, and its talented team. I look forward to building upon and expanding the firm’s current media relations and strategic communications practice,” said Hughes.
Prior to joining SevenTwenty, Hughes served as the Public Relations Manager for Epstein Becker & Green, P.C., one of the nation’s leading healthcare law firms based in Washington, D.C. In this role, she was responsible for leading the firm’s national external strategic communications program for 250 attorneys in 10 offices. Before this, Hughes was an Account Director with JPA Health Communications in Washington, D.C., where she managed the firm’s public relations programs for its healthcare and pharmaceutical clients.
From 1999 to 2008, Hughes held several positions and eventually became Vice President with Miami-based PR agency Thorp & Company. During her tenure, she developed, implemented, and managed strategic communications programs for Fortune 500 and mid-sized companies in the professional services sector, including those in the healthcare, legal, accounting, technology, financial services, retail, real estate, and hospitality industries.
