Beaver Run introduces Craft Beer Program to Base 9 Bar
Breckenridge, CO (PRWEB) November 10, 2014 -- There are a lot of things Colorado does exceptionally well, craft beer being among them. Base 9 bar located inside Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center is thrilled to celebrate this Colorado specialty with our new Craft Beer Program.
Base 9 is pleased to partner with Laura Lodge, a Cicerone Certified Beer Server who has over 20 years of experience in craft beer retail and distribution. Among her many accolades, Lodge is author of Distribution Insight for the Craft Brewer, Coordinator of the renowned Big Beers, Belgians & Barleywines Festival and owner of Customized Craft Beer Programs, the latter of which will be implemented into Base 9 the last week of November.
Regarding the craft beer industry, Lodge states “Craft beer is on fire. It has become extremely popular within both the consumer and culinary world. Restaurants across the country are establishing outstanding craft beer lists that rival their wine lists.” When asked about the Base 9 craft beer program Lodge says “Those traveling to Colorado are aware of the fantastic craft beer scene that awaits, and creating a diverse program in Beaver Run's Base 9 will give guests the opportunity to experience a wide range of flavors. Highlighting craft beer as part of an authentic Colorado experience simply makes sense.”
The new Base 9 Customized Craft Beer Program does not stop at the beer selections, however, Base 9 will provide a full tasting experience with eight Colorado craft brews on tap and pairing suggestions from a specialized food menu. Guests can try a flight of four different beers ranging from blonde to stout or buy a “double flight” and sample all draft offerings. In addition to the Colorado craft on draft, bottles of other unique craft beers will be available from well-known regional brewers.
Before the program launched, Managers within Beaver Run Resort were given the opportunity to sit down with Lodge to sample the eight beers on draft and determine the food pairing options. “Laura really knows her stuff” says John Northcutt, Food and Beverage Director for Beaver Run Resort. “It is amazing how a well paired beer can bring a completely new dimension to the dining experience, and vice versa. Offering tasting flights also allows the customer to really explore new flavors and find what they enjoy”
Eight different Colorado breweries are represented among the eight draft handles in Base 9. During select weeks, a specific brewery will be featured with a complimentary tasting in the lobby of Beaver Run from 4 – 7 pm one afternoon, followed by weeklong specials of the featured brewery’s products in Base 9. In addition to the craft beer and food pairing experience, Base 9 also offers darts and a championship billiards table for guests to enjoy at no cost. With a focus on Colorado beer, quality food pairings, and a casual atmosphere, Base 9 is sure to offer a unique experience and encourages guests to explore the world of craft beer and discover new tastes.
