Brixx Wood Fired Pizza will open first Alabama franchise location in 2015 in Patton Creek Development. This joins several new restaurant openings for the Charlotte, NC-based concept, which include Colorado, Indiana, Illinois and Virginia next year.

Brixx Wood Fired Pizza is bringing the heat to Alabama. Its first Alabama location will open just outside Birmingham in Hoover’s Patton Creek retail center in 2015. This joins several new restaurant openings for the Charlotte, NC-based concept, which include Colorado, Indiana, Illinois and Virginia next year.

Birmingham restaurateurs Russell Pate and Courtney Mason of Rolling Dough, LLC, will own and manage the new 3,500-square-foot restaurant, which will employ approximately 45 people. This is their first Brixx franchise.

"We’re confident the Birmingham community is a perfect fit for us, and that they’ll love our wood fired pizzas, salads, craft beers on tap and wines by the glass. “

Pate and Mason agree. “We were attracted to the passion Brixx brings to its food and guest service,” said Pate. “Brixx makes its signature pizza dough, focaccia and fresh mozzarella from scratch every morning. Guests can taste that quality on the plate and we’re looking forward to being a part of that.”

The first Brixx was founded in Charlotte, N.C., in 1998.From day one, the menu has featured fresh salads, pastas, sandwiches and, of course, pizza cooked in a wood-burning brick oven, complemented by 24 craft beers on tap & 14 wines by the glass. Brixx appeals to a wide array of palates and dietary needs, offering gluten-free dough and beer, vegetarian and vegan items.

The menu also offers sandwiches served on focaccia bread baked daily in the wood-burning oven, pasta dishes and desserts. The Patton Creek location will serve 14 wines by the glass and will have 24 craft beers on tap. It will serve food until 1 a.m. Monday through Saturday and until 11 p.m. Sunday.
