Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) November 11, 2014
Following an outstanding response from friends and colleagues of the late Ron Haylock, over £60,000 has been raised to create the Ron Haylock Music Room at Christel House South Africa.
There is a huge demand for access to music at the school and the success of this Appeal means that every child in school years 7 to 11 – some 325 students – will now have the chance to take up a musical instrument, receive expert tuition and potentially play in the newly-formed school brass band.
This memorial to Ron will ensure that, now and for years to come, future generations of students, teachers and visitors to Christel House in Cape Town will be able to appreciate the legacy of a man who had so many friends and opened so many doors for young people during his lifetime.
The Music Room will display a memorial plaque with a tribute to Ron and a list of the names of all donors, irrespective of the contribution amount. Around 150 donors from 13 different countries have already contributed to the Appeal.
For anyone who has not yet donated but wishes to be included, there is a final opportunity to be part of this tribute to Ron; donations of any amount large or small can be made in the following ways.
- Go to the JustGiving page http://www.justgiving.com/ronhaylockmusicroom and donate via credit or debit card (recommended for UK taxpayers as HMRC will contribute Gift Aid @ 25% gross).
- Send a cheque to (or make a bank transfer to) First National Trustee Company who have kindly agreed to act as escrow agents free of charge (recommended for corporate donations in non-sterling denominations). Contact Karen Ainley tel. +44 (0)1624 630630 or email Karen(dot)Ainley(at)fntc(dot)com for account details.

Founder Christel DeHaan said:
“Ron Haylock loved music and he had a keen interest in helping young people achieve success. We are grateful to his many friends around the world who have helped create this Music Room to celebrate his life and accomplishments. May everyone—young and old—be inspired by his example of living a meaningful life.”
