Paladin Data Systems announces Douglas County, WA as newest SMARTGov customer
Poulsbo, WA (PRWEB) November 20, 2014 -- Paladin Data Systems Corporation announced today that Douglas County, Washington is its newest conversion to SMARTGov, Paladin’s community development software that manages the full lifecycle of permits, inspections, licenses, or code enforcement actions for jurisdictions.
The county will be transitioning from Interlocking Software, Paladin’s legacy permitting software, to the cloud based features of SMARTGov.
“We are excited to move to SMARTGov software. As a longtime permitting customer of Paladin, Douglas County’s legacy data and configuration will be fully migrated to cloud hosted SMARTGov. This will expand availability of online features for customer users and ease access to information for the general public. This is a real win win,” said Mark Kulaas, Douglas County Land Services Director
Douglas County will also deploy SMARTGov's online Public Portal, which enables citizens greater access to research local building trends, apply for a permit, view maps, pay fees, submit digital architectural drawings, request inspections, and even review public notice postings in a 24/7, self-help environment. The Public Portal also helps jurisdictions reduce front counter workload as a full-featured extension of the jurisdiction's front counter services.
“This is a great fit for SMARTGov. In addition to Douglas County’s internal users the County also involves a number of outside agencies to sign off on permits. As a cloud hosted application external access to SMARTGov is very accommodating. Also citizens will be able to access a new set of self-service tools online including mapping, fee payment, and inspection requests,” said Jon Byrd, SMARTGov Business Development Executive.
Douglas County decided to migrate to SMARTGov Community Development Software due to a number of vulnerabilities with application server security and stability with Interlocking software. Since Interlocking was developed by Paladin they offer a migration path to SMARTGov free of charge and are experts at migrating data and training users more efficiently and effectively than any other company.
With an area of 1,820 square miles, Douglas County ranks 17 in size of Washington's 39 counties. With a population of 34,427 Douglas County is located near the geographic center of Washington. The county is geographically diverse with elevations ranging from 600 feet above sea level near the Columbia River to more than 4,000 feet on Badger Mountain.
