MCNA Dental Receives URAC Dental Plan Accreditation
Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) November 12, 2014 -- MCNA Dental (MCNA) has been awarded full Dental Plan Accreditation from URAC, a leading Washington, DC-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry. MCNA is the first dental plan to receive this accreditation from URAC.
“Being the first to achieve Dental Plan Accreditation from URAC is a hallmark of excellence for MCNA,” noted Dr. Jeffrey P. Feingold, Founder, President and CEO of MCNA. “The URAC seal of approval validates our approach to operations and clinical management.”
Dental Plan Accreditation requires compliance with industry standard best practices in all areas of dental plan management including member and provider services, utilization management, grievances and appeals, provider contracting, credentialing, human resources, quality improvement, and regulatory and HIPAA/HITECH compliance. This accreditation includes both the Medicaid and CHIP lines of business for MCNA Insurance Company and Managed Care of North America, Inc.
“This accreditation is a testament to our unwavering commitment to providing quality dental services to our stakeholders,” said Mayre Thompson, Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer. “Preparing for this process required significant teamwork and dedication. MCNA has proven over time that we are an organization committed to continuous quality improvement, and URAC standards provide a firm foundation for our efforts.”
Executive Director and Market President of MCNA Insurance Company, Dr. Philip Hunke, commented on the clinical aspects of accreditation: “URAC’s standards ensure processes that are clinically sound, address the use of evidence-based guidelines, and outline specific reviewer requirements for each level of clinical review. This approach benefits both our members and our network of providers.”
