We are continually educating ourselves on changing codes and new and innovative products that we can use in our equipment. We have an understanding of our customers’ wants and needs and provide them with a competitive HVAC solution.
Houston, TX (PRWEB) November 13, 2014
Custom Air Products & Services, Inc. (CAPS), a leading commercial and industrial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) company based in Houston, Texas (US) is proud to announce its continued growth as a proven leading powerhouse provider of HVAC equipment and solutions for the ever-expanding powerhouse industry.
CAPS provides custom HVAC solutions for over twenty of the world’s largest petrochemical, electrical, oil & gas, and power generation companies. A powerhouse is a building that contains electrical equipment for the purpose of distributing electrical power. These buildings are sometimes referred to as power control rooms (PCR), power control buildings (PCBs), power distribution centers, and e-houses. These buildings consume a large amount of energy, which results in the generation of a large amount of interior heat. If the powerhouse cannot maintain the specified temperature, the interior equipment will not operate properly or may stop working altogether, resulting in loss of production, equipment damage, or create a serious safety hazard. Powerhouse manufacturers must then rely on the proven experience and reputation of Custom Air Products and Services to engineer a custom HVAC solution that will ensure the building maintains its specified temperature and continues to operate reliably.
CAPS has a very diverse portfolio of HVAC equipment and services for the powerhouse industry: wall mounted air conditioning units from one and a half to forty ton capacity, package units, pressurization units and custom control panels. Typical powerhouse projects may include options such as hazardous duty construction to meet class and zone requirements, the ability to meet the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 496 Standards, blast resistant construction and the ability to withstand both high (131F/55C) and low (-40F/-40C) ambient operating conditions. While each project has its own unique features and requirements, CAPS follows a standardized process of: design, engineering, estimating, specification generation, fabrication, customer witness testing, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site installation, site acceptance testing (SAT), service and maintenance.
CAPS has provided service to the powerhouse market since the company opened its doors in 1996. It has remained competitive in this market through its evolving product lines of wall mounts, pressurization units, and control panels while also maintaining a strong reputation of having the highest quality of work. “We are continually educating ourselves on changing codes and new and innovative products that we can use in our equipment. We have an understanding of our customers’ wants and needs and provide them with a competitive HVAC solution. ” says Larry Novak, Vice President of Engineering.
CAPS growth has become global with units operating currently on six different continents and in over fifty-two countries. This market is a result of the dynamic oil & gas industry and utility infrastructure constantly changing and increasing. Existing plants require rehab and retrofit, while new plants are being created all over the world. And while this industry is constantly growing and changing, CAPS has continued to provide new products, innovative solutions, and superior engineering expertise to each and every project, regardless of its size and scope.
